5:03 pm - PFS RIDES AGAIN!!

Our last show was 2/11/05. And we finally have another planned.

Epilepsy Benefit Show
New Milford, Connecticut

Thats all i know so far. Apparently its an outdoor show. And yes it is weird that we have played only benefit shows. And yes it is weird that we always play on the 11th. We are well aware of these facts.

We will probably play at RedZone some time inbetween now and then. To practice and such. We'll let all of you fans know.

Also Saturday marks the day we finish our first original song. PFS is a cover band NO MORE! And once we have like 2 songs recorded we'll put them on CDs for those who want them for the low low price of around two bucks.

that is all

1:46 pm - first real show!

so last friday we played at my church we did half our set and it was good. better than i expected.

last night was rock aid. we opened and there was no sound check so we were the 'sacrificail lambs" per se. my mic kept fading in and out. so i switched them. we played 7 songs. they cut our set because hunter couldnt find his guitar fast enough. so we didnt get to play cute without the 'e'. and we're good at that song. im kinda hoping ed doesnt mind being our bassist. i love having him in the band. no one got our joke but raul nunez was awesome!

here are some pics from last nite:

1:20 am - new news!

so on januaury 20th, the boys of Ponies For Strangers became men. We totally won the Archbishop Molloy Battle of the Bands. So now we are opening at Molloy's Tsunaime Benefit Concert on 2/11/05. Save the Date!

In other news, Mike has left the band so everybody switched instruments and we have brought in Raul Nunez (AKA Ed) on bass. Kevin is on lead and hunter on rhythm.

Our set now consists of:

Fall Out Boy- Grand Theft Autumn (Where is Your Boy)
Brand New- Jude Law and a Semester Abroad
Relient K- Sadie Hawkins Dance
Green Day- Basket Case
Blink 182- Dammit
Taking Back Sunday- Cute Without the 'E' (Cut from the Team)
Jimmy Eat World- Pain
The Killers- Mr.Brightside

also Lana has been commisioned by us to make tshirts and this is the logo she has created:

what colors would be good? pick two. one for the body and one for the mohawk/tail. oh and the shirts will be black or white. they'll cost about 10 bucks a pop so if you dont get one at the show then just email asorryasterisk@aol.com.

1:48 am - do we really need a new name?

since everyone hates our name ive come up with some new ones and some ones that were mentioned. please vote.

the days
sweaters start fires
extinguish the anguish
shattered boy
daunte's henchmen
eyes of the infinite
certain stars
down in flames
pink scarves on mondays

ok thats all im going to put down. they mostly suck. i still like ponies for strangers.

6:31 pm - our band PWNS j00! not really.....

yea we had practice and my dad got us an awesome amp for christmas. it has four inputs. 1 for a mic. and hunter finally has a bass so its awesome. we played sadie hawkins dance PERFECTLY and we sounded oh so good. so here are our songs feel free to comment.

Songs we know:
1. A Praise Chorus- Jimmy Eat World
2. Boulevard of Broken Dreams- Green Day
3. Is this it?- The Strokes
4. Sadie Hawkins Dance- rK
5. Look What You've Done- Jet

Songs we plan on learning:
1. The Kids Aren't Alright- The Offspring (Kevin's idea)
2. Help- The Beatles (Kevin's good idea)
3. Me and Mia- Ted Leo and the Pharmacists (I <3 Ted Leo)
4. Roundabout- Yes! (Conor likes the keyboard part)
5. Slow Hands- Interpol (Mike wanted an Interpol song with an easy bassline for hunter)
6. Californication- RHCP (this one is a little iffy)
7. ?- U2 (we arent sure which song yet)
8. Damn it- Blink 182 (the only blink song mike would agree to do)
9. New Slang- The Shins (only me and mike have ever heard it)
10. Be My Escape- rK (i really didnt wanna do another rK song...at least not this one)

thats about it. im expecting random criticisms. we were thinking about doing the cure and we still might if enough of these fall through. they wouldnt let me do goldfinger. damnit. oh well. our drummer had no say in song selection seeing as how hes never around so yea. hes gotta deal.

Meh (Pierce L.)

PS almost forgot we are going to learn part of "I'm not okay" just to make fun of it.

9:53 pm - band practice numero three

uno! dos! tres! catorce!

yea crazy fun. our stupid trackie drummer canceled on us again so we had everyone but him there. hunter learned bass parts for sadie hawkins dance, the sweater song and a praise chorus. yea we did some rK some weezer and of course some jimmy eat world. it doesnt get much better than that...oh wait yes it does. when you actually have a drummer and you dont play outiside in the freezing cold. damn it we're playing at the strip club next time. but it was fun nonetheless. i like that word. nonetheless. i love that word anyway. these pics are from today. taken by me and conor.

of course the obligatory show picture.. can you guess which show belongs to who?

6:20 pm - sundays practice...i think we've given up on calling it fun time

well our drummer is a prick. so we had practice outside in the freezing air from 345 to 730 with small breaks for the consumption of food and hot cocoa.

otherwise it was a very good practice. we got awesome at "undone" and our "saide hawkins dance needs some work but thats more my fault because i couldtnt hear myself sing so i was off. and plus one of hunters friends was there criticizing my every note so that didnt help. i mean i dont see him in a band if he can sing so well. my dad cooked dinner for us too so it was awesome and we ate teddy grahams. we didnt really get to boulevard of broken dreams on sunday because we were really trying to play the other 2 with and without the cd backing us up. im so gald we have mike because he is aamzing and kevin did some nice stuff to weezer. conor quit the band twice yesterday and then came back and hunter might get a bass.

all is good in the land where strangers have ponies.

PS we will have pics as soon as kevin sends them to me.

11:17 pm - Concerning Tomorrow's Fun Time

Becuz our drummer is a complete suck up loser nerd and has taken it upon himself to both play in the school band for open house and on top of that be a tour guide, time and place for fun time is subject to change, we will be in touch with all members (basically just mike) who need to know where and when the practice will be as soon as possilbe. Jaime, you suck.

10:54 pm - first practice

oh man. first practice was awesome.i loved it. i was a little late but it was no big deal. EK ( heyarsehole ) came down to see us practice. we learned/covered two songs. not very well but hey it was a start. it was Sadie Hawkins dance by Relient K and The Sweater Song by Weezer. it was awesome. conor just sat around and ate cheese doodles and hunters string broke so he was useless. mike kept everyone under control though. EK helped out with stuff and he brought some REM. and kevin is the awesomest rhythm guitarist ever. anyway it was a lot of fun. thats about it.
